I love The Sims Resource. I have used it for quite a bit now. But you have to be very careful with what you download. Even with the safest websites, you can still get viruses from them. It's not the website itself, its just the custom content you get from there. Hi, thank you so much for the instructions but I keep encountering an error; if anyone could help me that would be much appreciated! When I try placing the lot into my newly bulldozed lot in the Map (by going to Map - Gallery - Place Lot), it'll load for a sec and then go to the replaced lot. But when I get there, it's still an empty lot.I tried placing the lot by going into build mode on the empty lot and choosing from the gallery there, but when I try placing it a red bubble pops up and it says 'System Error'.Thank you so so much to anyone that can help, I'll be forever grateful(. AnonymousHi, thank you so much for the instructions but I keep encountering an error. If anyone could help me that'd be much appreciated!I went to the lot to enter build mode, then bulldoze it, and open the gallery.

Then I chose my downloaded house and I clicked 'Place'. However, a red bubble pops up and it says 'System Error'. This happens even when I try to place an unfurnished version.I've also tried to place the lot from the Map by going to the gallery when I'm not on the lot, but it loads for a second, goes to the lot, and it'll still be an empty lot.Thank you so so much in advance to anyone that can help, I'll be forever grateful ^-^. AnonymousI found out that for those who have the 'system error' message, it's because you're trying to download a lot that was built with a more updated version. Since a lot of you have cracked versions of the game, it's not entirely up to date. What you should do is go into you Electronic Arts folder - The Sims 4 - GameVersion.txt.

Once you open the game version file it'll tell you what version you have and therefore you should search for lots that were built using that version. Then you'll have no problem in placing anything!

How to Get CC (Custom Content) in The Sims 4The Sims 4 is made a whole lot better thanks to all of the mods and Custom Content (CC) that its fans have created and shared with the community. This isn’t something you can just download from inside the game, though. Instead, you’ll need to find the content you want and load it into the correct file before you can play with them.First thing’s first, you’ll need to make sure that the “Mods” folder is already set up. It should be, but you can check this by heading to the following file path:Documents Electronic Arts The Sims 4 ModsIf you see this folder, click into it and make sure that the “Resource.cfg” folder is in there, too.Now that you know everything is in place, it’s time to go and look for the CC that you want to use in The Sims 4. Has a ton of CC available for players to download and use in their games, including some of the most popular CC to have been created. If you still can’t find the CC you’re looking for, try checking out or heading to the likes of Tumblr and searching “Sims 4 CC.”When you’ve found the Custom Content that you want, you’ll now need to download the file and make sure that the mesh also comes with it.

This should be noted in the CC’s description, so make sure you’re always downloading Custom Content with this noted in the description, otherwise it may not work. With these files downloaded, head to the location it was saved and cut the file with CTRL + X. Now you want to make your way back to the “Mods” folder at the file path we noted above. Drop the file into the Mods folder and make sure that the file ends in “.package.” If it doesn’t, you may need to extract it from a.zip or.rar folder. Now all you need to do is boot up The Sims 4 on your PC or Mac. As long as you’ve got the correct files in the right folder, you should see a window titled “Mods” appear. This is basically confirming that your CC will work in the game, but now you’ll need to go ahead and enable it in the game’s settings. In the top-right corner of the screen, you’ll see three dots. Click on these, selecting the “Game Options” mode and then “Other.” Now all you need to do is make sure that both “Enable Custom Content and Mods” and “Script Mods Allowed” are both ticked. And that’s all there is to getting CC in The Sims 4.
